I’m Ellen Stines, an American missionary serving in South Africa and a doctoral student studying how missionaries can build sustainable support for long-term ministry.

01 THE WORK

Faithful ministry needs both vision and infrastructure.

Much of my work happens behind the scenes. I help turn big ministry vision into clear budgets, dependable systems, and practical pathways forward so others are free to focus on discipleship, outreach, and the people in front of them.

Serving in South Africa

I serve with Fire & Fragrance South Africa in Potchefstroom, helping build the financial and operational foundations that allow missionaries, schools, and outreaches to flourish.

Stewarding the Mission

As Finance Coordinator, I support the practical side of ministry, from budgets and reporting to donation systems and the details that help teams go where God is calling them.

Equipping Missionaries

My doctoral work explores how new missionaries can build sustainable, relational support so they can remain healthy, faithful, and effective in long-term missions.

For me, Hope Again is about showing up, listening well, and walking with people as they find hope and freedom in Jesus.

What could missions look like if missionaries were fully equipped and fully funded?

My goal is not simply to teach people how to ask for money. It is to help form healthy missionaries who understand generosity, communicate with courage and gratitude, build genuine partnerships, and remain in their calling for the long haul.
